Art Unleashed in Downtown Highland Park
“The Big Dog Show” Visits Downtown Highland Park

Beginning June 28, Downtown Highland Park will celebrate the Dog Days of Summer as it welcomes the “Big Dogs” to its central business district by award-winning, nationally known artist Dale Rogers. Consisting of twenty-two, 8 foot high by 10 foot long cor-ten steel “American Dog” sculptures, this one-of-a-kind traveling art exhibit will make its home in Downtown Highland Park throughout the month of July.In conjunction with the “Big Dogs” visit, The Puppy Mill Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the public and raising awareness about the systematic animal cruelty in puppy mills, will be participating in the numerous special events, fundraisers and doggy socials planned throughout the month of July.

Big Dog Special Events

June 29, 2013 | Kick Off Event- with Dale Rogers |  1pm-3pm
Location: The Big Dogs Park in front of City Hall, 1707 St. Johns Ave.
Join us as we kick off our month long art exhibit- The Big Dog Show. Meet the artist behind the dogs, Dale Rogers and visit with local rescue organizations who will have adoptable dogs on-site. Also hear from Cari Meyers, President of The Puppy Mill Project on the importance of animal adoption. (Click Here for More Details)

July 13, 2013 | Adopt-a-Dog Walk | 11am-3pm
Location: In stores throughout Downtown Highland Park

July 14, 2013 | Pet Adoption Event | 11am-3pm
Location: Port Clinton Square, 600 Central Ave.
Orphans of the Storm will be hosting a pet adoption event featuring adoptable dogs and cats. 

July 16, 2013 | Story Time with The Big Dogs| 7pm-8:30pm
Location: The Big Dog Park, in front of City Hall, 1770 St. Johns Ave. 
Join the Highland Park Library and K9 Reading Buddies for a Dog themed story Hour. 

July 21, 2013 | Pet Adoption Event| 11am-3pm
Location: Port Clinton Square, 600 Central Ave.
Orphans of the Storm will be hosting a pet adoption event featuring adoptable dogs and cats.
